What Status Lark does

Status Lark works out what a flight or a hotel stay actually earns you toward elite status — not what it earns in redeemable miles or points, which is a different currency and usually a more flattering one. Enter a route, a cabin and, where the programme earns from spend, a fare, and you get the tier credit that flight contributes, together with how far it takes you up the ladder.

The airline side covers 50 frequent flyer programmes across all three global alliances — Oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance — with earning modelled per operating carrier and per booking class, because the same letter means different things on different airlines. You can enter the exact booking class from your ticket, or pick a named fare type when you do not know it. The hotel side covers the big five chains: Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, IHG One Rewards and Accor Live Limitless, with elite-night credits and published status matches.

Why the figures are what they are

Earning rates are transcribed from each programme’s own published tables and calculators, and dated when captured. Where a programme publishes no rate for a booking class, the calculator says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate; inferred or unconfirmed figures are labelled, and the few tier ladders we cannot confirm at source are marked approximate where they are shown.
