Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Status Lark is operated as a trading style by its creator. For any privacy queries, contact us at [email protected].

Status Lark is designed not to collect personal data. There are no user accounts, no contact forms, no marketing, and no cookies set by us, and we do not collect or store personal data for our own purposes. Because of this, in the ordinary course of using the calculator there is no personal data for which we act as a controller.

Limited technical data (such as IP addresses) is processed by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, to deliver and protect the site; this occurs at Cloudflare’s edge and we do not receive, store, or access it (see §2c). If you choose to email us, we use your email address and message solely to respond to you.

2. What data we collect and why

2a. Calculator inputs

When you use the calculator you enter IATA airport codes, airline codes, and booking class information. This data is sent to our server solely to compute Tier Point estimates and is not stored, logged, or linked to any individual. It is processed transiently and discarded once the response is returned.

2b. Analytics — Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (pages viewed, referrers, general geographic region). This service is cookieless and does not use fingerprinting — no cookie consent banner is required under PECR.

No personal data is collected by our analytics. Cloudflare returns only aggregate statistics; individual visitor data is not accessible to us.

2c. Cloudflare infrastructure (edge processing)

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (global edge network) and uses Cloudflare as its DNS, CDN, and security layer. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata in its role as a network infrastructure provider to deliver content and protect against abuse. This processing occurs at Cloudflare's edge — we do not receive, store, or access this data.

See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for details of their sub-processor role and data practices.

2d. Hosting and data location

The application is served from Cloudflare’s global edge network (no fixed region). Reference data (airline earning rules, airport data) is stored in a Supabase database in the EU (eu-central-1, Frankfurt). No personal data is stored in this database.

2e. Cookies

We set no cookies of our own. No analytics cookies, no tracking cookies, no marketing cookies. No cookie consent banner is shown because none is required.

Cloudflare Turnstile (used to protect the anonymous feedback endpoint) may set a strictly necessary security cookie. This is PECR-exempt and requires no consent.

2f. Saved searches

The “Save this search” feature stores your search parameters (airport codes, carrier, booking class, and credited programme) in your browser’s localStorage on your device only. This data is written solely when you click Save and is never transmitted to us or any third party. We hold no copy of it. You can clear saved searches at any time using the “Clear all” option in the panel, or by clearing your browser’s site data.

2g. Result feedback

When you use the 👍/👎 “Accurate?” feedback on a calculated result, we store the following to help us improve our earning-rule data: your vote, the route and booking details you calculated (IATA codes, carrier, booking class, fare brand), the programme credited, and the points we computed. For 👎 votes you may also select a reason from a fixed list of preset options (for example, “the points figure looks wrong”). There is no free-text field — you cannot type anything into the feedback, so it cannot contain personal data.

We deliberately do not collect or store your IP address, browser fingerprint, session identifiers, or any other information that could identify you. Because the feedback consists only of your menu selections plus the calculation context — with no identifier and no free-form text — it is anonymous data. As anonymous data is not personal data under UK GDPR, the Regulation does not apply to it and we do not rely on any lawful basis under Article 6.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing.
  • We do not run advertising or build advertising profiles.
  • We do not make automated decisions about individuals.
  • We do not use third-party analytics that identify individual visitors.

4. Data retention

Calculator input data is not retained. Anonymous feedback (votes, preset reason codes, and calculation context) is retained indefinitely to support ongoing data-quality work; as no identifier and no free text is stored, there is no personal data to delete. Any email you send us is kept only as long as needed to handle your query. Cloudflare’s own access logs are subject to their retention policies.

5. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data in the ordinary course of using this service, most UK GDPR rights (such as access, rectification, and portability) have limited practical application here. To the extent we hold any personal data about you — for example, an email you have sent us — you have the right to:

  • Access / rectification / erasure — ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with the ICO if you believe we have mishandled your data.

To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
