Status Qualifying Credits (SQC) count within a calendar year: Air Canada's own flights earn 4 SQC per $1 on Flex fares and above, 2 on Standard and 0 on Economy Basic (Premium Economy Basic and Business Class Basic, sold only on some international routes, earn 4 like the other premium fares), and status earned in a calendar year runs to the end of the following calendar year. Star Alliance partner flights earn 1 SQC per 5 Aeroplan base points, hard-capped at 25,000 SQC a year, and that ceiling is shared with more than forty travel and everyday earning partners, so partner flying alone cannot reach 50K. On an Air Canada (014) ticket a partner flight earns the uncapped spend rate instead (2 SQC per $1 in Economy Standard, 4 on Flex and above): entered as sold by Air Canada, it is priced at that rate here. A partner flight number on an Air Canada ticket cannot be entered, so it is understated. We treat the rate as per Canadian dollar, which is our inference, so a fare entered in another currency is converted at a dated reference rate and may differ from what posts to your account. No renewal threshold is shown because we found no renewal rule for flying on Air Canada's status pages.

- On Air Canada metal, SQC accrue per dollar of eligible fare: 4 SQC per dollar on Flex fares and above, 2 on Economy Standard, and none at all on Economy Basic. Premium Economy Basic and Business Class Basic, sold only on select international itineraries, earn 4 per dollar like the other premium fares: Air Canada's fare tables print that rate, though no SQC posted on either fare has been seen, so we mark those figures unverified. We treat that dollar as Canadian, but that is our inference rather than Air Canada's statement — its status page writes an unqualified dollar sign throughout and names no currency, while showing the same figure on its Canadian and US pages. Star Alliance partner flights work differently: they earn 1 SQC per 5 Aeroplan base points, capped at 25,000 SQC a year, so partner flying alone cannot reach the 50K tier. One published exception: a partner flight on an Air Canada-issued (014) ticket earns the uncapped spend rate instead. Enter such a flight as sold by Air Canada (an AC flight number) and this calculator prices it at that spend rate, taking the ticket to be Air Canada's; it marks the figure as assumed, because we have not captured Air Canada's own rule for codeshares. The partner cap shown beside a result is about partner flights on other airlines' tickets. A partner's own flight number on an Air Canada-issued ticket cannot be entered here, so that one case is priced at the partner rate and understated.
