Frequently asked questions

How are SQC calculated?
SQC accrue per Canadian dollar of eligible fare. On Air Canada metal, premium cabins earn at the highest rate while Economy earns by fare brand — Standard fares earn at a reduced rate, Flex and above at the full rate, and Basic fares earn no SQC at all. Star Alliance partner flights earn at cabin-level rates.
What happened to SQM?
Air Canada retired distance-based Status Qualifying Miles in favour of the revenue-based SQC model — status now tracks what you spend rather than how far you fly.
Which fare brands earn SQC in Economy?
Standard, Flex, Comfort and Latitude fares all earn SQC (at differing rates); Basic fares earn none. Select the fare brand in the calculator to see the exact figure for your ticket.
