KrisFlyer status tiers

KrisFlyer tier ladder
TierElite miles required from zeroTo retain
Elite Silver25,000Same as to reach
Elite Gold50,000Same as to reach

Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what KrisFlyer publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over a qualification window of the same length as the reaching figure’s (the window above says how it is anchored). “Same as to reach” means KrisFlyer says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.

Elite miles count from Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance partner flights (plus certain SQ-marketed Virgin Australia codeshares); other partners earn award miles only. Singapore Airlines publishes no per-partner Elite-mile table, so Star Alliance partner flights are modelled as distance × the operating carrier's booking-class percentage from the KrisFlyer accrual chart (revision of 24 August 2026); tier and promotional bonuses are excluded, as published. Class G on Singapore Airlines earns nothing, because the terms say no Elite miles are earned in G although the chart prints 50%. Air Canada and TAP show an unknown rate because KrisFlyer accrues on the fare option purchased rather than the booking class, and several Air New Zealand classes are route-limited and also unknown. Ground spend (Kris+, KrisShop, Pelago) and Scoot flights also earn Elite miles but are outside this calculator; Elite miles reset at the end of your individual membership year.

How we checked this

Frequently asked questions

How are Elite miles calculated?
Elite miles are a percentage of the actual distance flown, set by your cabin and booking class — full premium fares earn well above 100% of distance, while discounted Economy earns less.
Over what period do Elite miles count?
KrisFlyer counts Elite miles over a rolling 12-month membership period anchored to your own membership year rather than the calendar year, and any Elite miles still on your balance are cleared at the end of that year.
Do Star Alliance partner flights earn Elite miles?
Yes, and this calculator models them as the distance flown multiplied by the operating carrier's published booking-class percentage. Singapore Airlines publishes the mechanism but no per-partner Elite-mile rate table, so treat partner figures as modelled rather than quoted. Some combinations show an unknown rate instead: Air Canada and TAP, because KrisFlyer accrues on the fare option purchased rather than the booking class, and several route-limited Air New Zealand classes. Partners outside Star Alliance earn award miles only, and your own tier never changes these figures — tier and promotional bonuses are excluded from Elite miles.
