Qatar Airways Privilege Club awards Qpoints per flight based on your booking class, with premium cabins earning more — a Business Elite fare earns tens of Qpoints where Economy Lite earns single figures. Qpoints are the sole currency for reaching Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Privilege Club assesses your Qpoints on a date of its own, so that date decides which column applies, not the date of any one flight.
Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Privilege Club publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over a qualification window of the same length as the reaching figure’s (the window above says how it is anchored). It shows today's figures, not the announced ladder's. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.
Requirements beyond the threshold

These apply in addition to the Qpoints figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.
Until 18 December 2026 Qatar Airways asks for fewer Qpoints: 135 / 270 / 540 to reach Silver, Gold or Platinum, and 110 / 225 / 450 over 12 months (or 270 / 540 / 1,080 over 24) to keep one. From 19 December 2026 it is 150 / 300 / 600 to reach a tier and 135 / 270 / 540 to keep it. Qpoints count within any 12-month period and are always awarded on the marketing carrier's booking class and the purchased fare, not the cabin flown. Keeping a tier also needs at least 20% of Qpoints — or 4 sectors in 12 months, 8 in 24 — on flights both operated and marketed by Qatar Airways, and two of Qatar's pages say moving up a tier needs it too. A tier that is not retained drops one level, or to Burgundy after 24 months of inactivity.

- How are Qpoints calculated?
- Qpoints are a small fixed award per flight, set by your booking class — not by what you paid, and not by your membership tier (your tier changes your Avios, never your Qpoints). They do step up across a handful of distance bands rather than scaling with the miles flown, so a long-haul Business sector earns somewhat more than a short one in the same class but nothing like proportionally. Our figures are verified against Qatar Airways' official Qcalculator.
- How many Qpoints do I need for each tier?
- The ladder above shows the Qpoints needed within 12 months. For a limited time Qatar Airways asks for fewer: until 18 December 2026, 135 for Silver, 270 for Gold and 540 for Platinum, and 110, 225 and 450 to retain them. From 19 December 2026 it asks for 150, 300 and 600, and 135, 270 and 540 to retain them, and the ladder changes on that date. Qatar Airways counts Qpoints over any rolling 12-month period rather than a fixed membership year, and a tier you fail to retain drops one level rather than resetting to Burgundy. - Do Oneworld partner flights earn Qpoints?
- Yes — but only flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways or a Oneworld airline earn Qpoints; other Privilege Club partners earn Avios only. Partner Qpoints are also small fixed per-flight awards, generally a little lower than Qatar Airways' own. On codeshares, Qpoints follow the MARKETING carrier's booking class and the fare you purchased, not the cabin you fly (Privilege Club T&Cs, July 2026). - Is there a Qatar Airways flying requirement for renewal?
- Yes. On top of the Qpoints threshold, renewing a tier requires at least 20% of your Qpoints — or four sectors in twelve months (eight in twenty-four) — to come from flights both operated and marketed by Qatar Airways. A member can hold enough Qpoints from partner flying alone and still fail renewal.
