Best Western's terms define Qualifying Nights and exclude, among others, nights booked through online travel agencies, tour operators and special discounted rates. Pay with Points stays (points plus cash) count towards status, and the terms list free night award rates as non-qualifying; the rewards page, however, lists free night redemptions counting towards status as a benefit, so check Best Western's terms for the current position. Purchased points do not count.

How long does Best Western Rewards status last?

The current US terms say status achieved in a year stays in effect through the next calendar year, to 31 December (status achieved in 2026 runs to the end of 2027). Best Western publishes the same figures as the activity required to achieve or maintain status.

Best Western Rewards

Best Western Rewards is the programme of Best Western Hotels & Resorts. Members start at Blue, and Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Diamond Select are each earned on Qualifying Nights in a calendar year; nights are the only route, with no stay or spend threshold. The figures are the same on Best Western's US and UK sites.
