Fortune Wings Club status tiers and Status Qualifying Points (SQPs) thresholds

Fortune Wings Club is the loyalty programme of Hainan Airlines. Hainan Airlines is not a member of Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance, so there is no alliance-wide status recognition: the benefits that apply are the ones Fortune Wings Club publishes.

Members join at the Fortune Wings Card and move up through Select, Silver, Gold and Platinum Cards by earning Status Qualifying Points (SQPs) or Status Qualifying Segments (SQSs). Hainan sets the same figure to keep a card as to reach it. The table below sets out the published figures; the pages we hold do not state the length of the tier validity period.

Fortune Wings Club tiers

Hainan's membership page heads the achievement column "Within the following 12 months" and the maintenance column "Tier Validity period". It does not say when the 12 months start, whether they run by calendar year or from a date in your membership, or how long a tier stays valid.

Silver Card30,000Same as to reach
Gold Card50,000Same as to reach
Platinum Card100,000Same as to reach

Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Fortune Wings Club publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over a qualification window of the same length as the reaching figure’s (the window above says how it is anchored). “Same as to reach” means Fortune Wings Club says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.

Each figure on Hainan's page is "SQPs or SQSs": you can reach or keep Select Card with 5,000 SQPs or 4 Status Qualifying Segments (SQSs), Silver Card with 30,000 SQPs or 20 SQSs, Gold Card with 50,000 SQPs or 40 SQSs, and Platinum Card with 100,000 SQPs or 80 SQSs. This calculator measures SQPs only, so count your segments separately if that route suits you better. The page does not say whether SQPs and SQSs can be combined. The pages we hold do not state the length of the tier validity period, or any rule for carrying points forward or for what happens if you fall short. The page also calls the first rung "Selected Card" in its introduction; we use "Select Card", the name in its table.

Frequently asked questions

How do you reach a Fortune Wings Club card?
Hainan's membership page sets a Status Achievement Standard for each card, counted "within the following 12 months": 5,000 SQPs or 4 SQSs for Select Card, 30,000 SQPs or 20 SQSs for Silver, 50,000 SQPs or 40 SQSs for Gold and 100,000 SQPs or 80 SQSs for Platinum. The page does not say when those 12 months start.
How do you keep a card?
The page's maintenance column, headed "Tier Validity period", repeats the same figures as the achievement column. It does not state how long a tier is valid, or what happens to a card if you fall short, so we do not model a downgrade.
Can you qualify on segments instead of points?
Yes. Each figure is written as SQPs or SQSs, so Status Qualifying Segments are an alternative route: 4, 20, 40 and 80 SQSs for Select, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The page does not say whether the two can be combined. The tier-progress calculator measures SQPs only, so count your segments separately if that route suits you better.
Can Status Lark calculate how many SQPs a flight earns?
Not yet. Fortune Wings Club is not one of the programmes our earning calculator models, so this page covers the tier ladder only. The tier-progress calculator works from the SQPs you already hold.

Hainan Airlines is not a member of Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance, so Fortune Wings Club status brings only the benefits the programme itself publishes.
