LATAM Pass status tiers and Qualifying Points thresholds
LATAM Pass is the loyalty programme of LATAM Airlines. LATAM is not a member of Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance, so there is no alliance-wide status recognition: the benefits that apply are the ones LATAM Pass publishes.
Members join at the LATAM category and move up through Gold, Platinum, Black and Black Signature by earning Qualifying Points between 1 January and 31 December. Qualifying Points are separate from the LATAM Pass Miles you spend on rewards. The table below sets out the published figures.
LATAM Pass tiers
Qualifying Points count from 1 January to 31 December. You move up as soon as you reach a category's figure, and keep it for the rest of that year and the next, to 31 March of the year after. Categories are renewed each year from the previous calendar year's Qualifying Points.
| Tier | Qualifying Points required from zero |
|---|---|
| Gold | 12,000 |
| Platinum | 35,000 |
| Black | 100,000 |
| Black Signature | 200,000 |
LATAM Pass publishes no separate, lower figure for keeping a category: it renews each category from the Qualifying Points of the previous calendar year. If you fall short of a category you earned on Qualifying Points, you drop one category, not to the bottom. Qualifying Points cannot be redeemed and are separate from LATAM Pass Miles. Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Black also exist, for members who have flown with LATAM the most over time; the pages we hold give no figure for reaching them. LATAM's Elite Categories page gives the benefits a year less (to 31 March of the year after you qualify); its General Regulations, which we follow, give the longer period.

Frequently asked questions
- How do LATAM Pass category upgrades work?
- Your category changes as soon as your Qualifying Points for the calendar year reach the next figure, and the new benefits apply straight away. You then keep that category for the rest of the year and the following year, to 31 March of the year after.
- How do you keep a LATAM Pass category?
- Each year LATAM Pass renews categories from the Qualifying Points earned in the previous calendar year; it publishes no separate, lower figure for keeping one. If you fall short of a category you earned on Qualifying Points, you move down one category rather than back to the start.
- How do you earn Qualifying Points?
- LATAM Pass names flights with LATAM and its partner airlines, hotels, cars and other travel booked on latam.com, LATAM Airlines credit cards and its LATAM Pass Bonus. On LATAM's own international flights it publishes 6 Qualifying Points per US dollar from the Light fare up, and 1 per US dollar on Basic, before taxes and fees.
- Can Status Lark calculate how many Qualifying Points a flight earns?
- Not yet. LATAM Pass is not one of the programmes our earning calculator models, so this page covers the category ladder only. The tier-progress calculator works from the Qualifying Points you already hold.
LATAM Airlines is not a member of Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance, so LATAM Pass status brings only the benefits the programme itself publishes.
