Sky Pearl Club status tiers and qualifying mileage (定级里程) thresholds
Sky Pearl Club (南航明珠俱乐部) is China Southern Airlines' loyalty programme. China Southern is in none of Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance, so the benefits that apply are the ones Sky Pearl Club publishes.
Members join at Pearl Card (明珠卡) and reach Silver, Gold and Platinum by earning qualifying mileage (定级里程) within one calendar year. The table below sets out the published figures. Status Lark does not calculate what a flight earns in this programme; the tier-progress calculator measures the gap from the qualifying mileage you already hold.
Sky Pearl Club tiers
One calendar year (自然年): qualifying mileage or qualifying segments accumulated within a calendar year decide the level. The level is valid until the last day of February of the third year from the assessment date.
| Tier | qualifying mileage (定级里程) required from zero |
|---|---|
| Silver | 20,000 |
| Gold | 40,000 |
| Platinum | 100,000 |
Each threshold can also be met with qualifying segments (定级航段) instead of qualifying mileage: 20 for Silver, 40 for Gold and 80 for Platinum. China Southern lists the two as alternatives (二选一, "choose one of two"), so either is enough. This calculator measures qualifying mileage only. Award miles (奖励里程) do not count towards a level. Gold and Platinum members whose qualifying mileage or segments exceed the level they were awarded can count the surplus towards the next calendar year only. China Southern publishes no separate figures for keeping a level. A trial running to 31 December 2027 applies percentage discounts (折) to the thresholds for members who keep their current level or a lower one, with a bigger discount for each consecutive year at the level: for Silver 9折, 8.5折 and 8折 in years one, two and three; for Gold 8.5折, 8折 and 7.5折; for Platinum 8折, 7.5折 and 7折. We have not turned these into reduced mileage figures because China Southern does not publish any. The terms do not say whether the discount applies to members who first qualify from 2025, so check your own account before relying on it.

Frequently asked questions
- How do you reach Silver, Gold or Platinum in Sky Pearl Club?
- By accumulating qualifying mileage within one calendar year: the figures in the table. China Southern also accepts qualifying segments (定级航段) instead: 20 for Silver, 40 for Gold and 80 for Platinum. It lists the two as alternatives (二选一), so either is enough. Award miles do not count.
- How long does a Sky Pearl Club level last?
- Until the last day of February of the third year from the assessment date, unless China Southern states otherwise. China Southern's own example: a level earned between January and June 2025 is valid to 28 February 2027.
- Does surplus status carry over to the next year?
- For Gold and Platinum, yes, for one year. Qualifying mileage or segments above the level you were awarded can count towards the next calendar year only (仅次年有效). Silver has no carry-over.
- What does it take to keep a level?
- China Southern publishes no separate figures for keeping a level. A trial running to 31 December 2027 applies percentage discounts (折) to the thresholds for members who keep their current level or a lower one, larger for each consecutive year at the level. China Southern publishes the discounts but no reduced mileage figures, and its terms do not say whether the discount applies to members who first qualify from 2025, so we do not show reduced thresholds. Check your own account for the figure that applies to you.
China Southern Airlines is not a member of Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance, so Sky Pearl Club status brings only the benefits the programme itself publishes.
