Spend-based since 1 Apr 2025: 1 Tier Point per £1 of eligible spend (fare + carrier charges) on BA flights, plus a cabin/fare bonus. Gold Guest List needs 65,000 TP (≥52,000 from BA-marketed flights); renews at 40,000.
Frequently asked questions
- How are BA Tier Points calculated?
- Since 1 April 2025, British Airways awards 1 Tier Point per £1 of eligible spend (base fare plus carrier-imposed surcharges, excluding government taxes), plus a fixed cabin bonus — for example a long-haul Club World fare adds a flat bonus on top of the per-pound earning. Flights on American Airlines and Iberia ticketed through BA follow the same model; other Oneworld partner flights earn by route and cabin.
- When does the BA tier year run?
- The collection year runs from 1 April to 31 March for all members. Tier Points do not carry over between years.
- Do partner flights earn BA Tier Points?
- Yes. American Airlines and Iberia flights earn spend-based Tier Points like BA's own flights. Other Oneworld carriers — Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Qantas and the rest — earn a fixed amount per sector based on route and cabin. This calculator covers both models.
