Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Qantas Frequent Flyer publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over a qualification window of the same length as the reaching figure’s (the window above says how it is anchored). “Same as to reach” means Qantas Frequent Flyer says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.
Requirements beyond the threshold
- Silver — Four flights with a QF, JQ or GK flight number on the ticket (to attain and to retain).
- Gold — Four flights with a QF, JQ or GK flight number on the ticket (to attain and to retain).
- Platinum — Four flights with a QF, JQ or GK flight number on the ticket (to attain and to retain).
- Platinum One — At least 2,700 Status Credits from flights with a QF flight number on the ticket.
These apply in addition to the Status Credits figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.
Your Qantas Membership Year is personal to you: it starts on the first day of the month after the month you joined the programme and runs for twelve months, so there is no programme-wide reset date. From 8 December 2026 the Qantas terms add Status Credits earned on the ground, once per category per Membership Year in ten categories such as credit cards, hotels and everyday shopping, up to 140 in a Membership Year. They also roll excess Status Credits into the next Membership Year: 25% of those above 300 for Silver, and 50% of those above 700 for Gold, 1,400 for Platinum and 3,600 for Platinum One, up to 500. The calculator counts Status Credits from flights only.

- How are Qantas Status Credits calculated?
- Qantas uses a region-based earn structure: each flight earns a fixed Status Credits amount from the route's region pair crossed with the fare's earn category, with distance bands only as a fallback for unmapped routes — that fallback also applies to some of our figures, which are then marked indicative. Select the fare brand in the calculator where offered; it changes the earn category.
- How many Status Credits do I need for each tier?
- The ladder above shows the thresholds from Silver through Platinum One. Status Credits accumulate across the membership year toward those totals, and the counter is not reduced when you reach a tier. Qantas additionally requires a minimum number of eligible Qantas-marketed sectors at most tiers; that sits outside a per-flight calculation and is not modelled here.
- Do Jetstar and partner flights earn Status Credits?
- Eligible Jetstar and Oneworld partner flights credited to Qantas Frequent Flyer earn Status Credits by route and fare class. Enter the operating carrier in the calculator to check a specific flight.
