Qantas Frequent Flyer at a glance

  • Qantas Frequent Flyer has 4 elite tiers, from Silver at 300 Status Credits to Platinum One at 3,600 Status Credits.
  • Annual qualifying period — points accumulate across the full year.
  • Gold (700 Status Credits) is the lowest tier with Oneworld Sapphire lounge access.
  • A return between LHR and SIN on Qantas earns 80–160 Status Credits in economy and 320–350 in business, depending on the booking class.
  • On the reference route LHR–NYC (JFK or EWR), flown by American Airlines, one economy return earns 100 Status Credits in booking class Y, the highest-earning economy class we hold for that flight. That is 3 returns to Silver from zero by Status Credits alone; Silver also has conditions beyond the threshold, listed under the tier ladder.

Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Qantas Frequent Flyer publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over the same qualification window as the reaching figure. “Same as to reach” means Qantas Frequent Flyer says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.

Requirements beyond the threshold

  • Silver — Four flights with a QF, JQ or GK flight number on the ticket (to attain and to retain).
  • Gold — Four flights with a QF, JQ or GK flight number on the ticket (to attain and to retain).
  • Platinum — Four flights with a QF, JQ or GK flight number on the ticket (to attain and to retain).
  • Platinum One — At least 2,700 Status Credits from flights with a QF flight number on the ticket.

These apply in addition to the Status Credits figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.

Your Qantas Membership Year is personal to you: it starts on the first day of the month after the month you joined the programme and runs for twelve months, so there is no programme-wide reset date.
