Smiles Tier Calculator

Enter the milhas qualificáveis (qualifying miles) in your Smiles count this year, including any excess carried over, to see the distance to each Smiles category.

The figures come from Smiles' published ladder. This calculator does not work out what a flight earns; it measures the gap from where you are.

Smiles status tiers

Milhas qualificáveis and trechos qualificáveis count from January to December. You move up as soon as you reach a category's figure. Smiles counts each year's balance on 31 December, keeps your category to 31 March either way, and applies any change from 1 April.

Smiles tier ladder
Tiermilhas qualificáveis required from zeroTo retain
Prata6,000Same as to reach
Ouro12,000Same as to reach
Diamante24,000Same as to reach
Magno50,000Same as to reach

Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Smiles publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over a qualification window of the same length as the reaching figure’s (the window above says how it is anchored). “Same as to reach” means Smiles says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.

Requirements beyond the threshold

  • Magno — 50 trechos qualificáveis (qualifying segments) in the same calendar year as well, to reach and to keep the category.

These apply in addition to the milhas qualificáveis figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.

Prata, Ouro and Diamante can also be reached or kept with 6, 12 or 24 trechos qualificáveis (qualifying segments) instead of the miles; Magno needs 50,000 milhas qualificáveis and 50 trechos qualificáveis together. This calculator measures milhas qualificáveis only. Smiles carries any excess into the next year: on 1 January it deducts the figure for your category and the rest stays in your count, so enter the balance your Smiles account shows. Miles from Clube Smiles plans and the GOL Smiles credit card count at 10 to 1, and bonus miles do not count. If you fall short and your category is due to expire, you drop one category. A Clube Smiles 20.000 plan can also give eligible members Diamante for as long as the plan is active; this calculator does not model that.

Frequently asked questions

Which qualifying miles should I enter?
The milhas qualificáveis balance in your Smiles account: those earned since 1 January plus any excess Smiles carried over from last year. Redeemable miles (milhas resgatáveis) do not count.
What if I fly more segments than I earn miles?
For Prata, Ouro and Diamante, Smiles accepts 6, 12 or 24 qualifying segments instead of the miles, so count your segments too. This calculator measures miles only. Magno needs 50 segments as well as 50,000 miles.
