The figures come from WestJet Rewards' published ladder, read as Canadian dollars. This calculator does not work out what a booking earns; it measures the gap from where you are.

WestJet Rewards status tiers

A Qualifying Year is the calendar year, 1 January to 31 December; your first Qualifying Year begins on the date you enrol and ends on 31 December. Once you reach Silver, Gold or Platinum you keep the benefits for the rest of that year and the whole of the next year.

Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what WestJet Rewards publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over a qualification window of the same length as the reaching figure’s (the window above says how it is anchored). “Same as to reach” means WestJet Rewards says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.

WestJet prints the tier bands as dollar amounts with no currency code; they are read here as Canadian dollars because the same page gives its Status Lift and bonus figures in CAD, and 20, 30 and 50 Status Lifts of 200 CAD come to exactly 4,000, 6,000 and 10,000, the three bands. Tier qualifying spend counts from the Qualifying Year, 1 January to 31 December, based on the date flights are flown or packages completed. WestJet publishes no lower figure for keeping a tier: its rewards page gives the tier qualifying spend requirement to retain a tier for the next year as $4,000 for Silver, $6,000 for Gold and $10,000 for Platinum, the same as to reach it, and its tiers page says keeping Silver, Gold or Platinum in later years is based on your total qualifying spend in the second year and each year following. No rollover of spend above a tier's threshold and no soft landing is published. Primary cardholders on the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard earn Status Lift of 200 CAD in tier qualifying spend for every $5,000 of eligible purchases, up to 50 times a year (10,000 CAD); the page lists 20 Status Lifts for Silver, 30 for Gold and 50 for Platinum. Count any Status Lift you hold in the figure you enter. Under the terms effective 9 September 2026, purchases of Sunwing Vacations eligible packages also count towards tier qualifying spend, on 20% of the member's share of the package. Gift of Gold vouchers and the parental leave arrangement are not tier thresholds and are not modelled here.

Frequently asked questions

What should I enter?
The tier qualifying spend in your WestJet Rewards account for the current calendar-year Qualifying Year, including any Status Lift from the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard.
Does it show what I need to keep my tier?
The figures are the same. WestJet gives the requirement to retain a tier for the next year as $4,000 for Silver, $6,000 for Gold and $10,000 for Platinum, the same as to reach it, counted on your total qualifying spend in the second year and each year following. The distance shown to your own tier is also the distance to keeping it.
