Is Radisson Rewards status based on a calendar year?

No. It uses a 12-month Qualification Period. For a new member it starts at enrolment; after that it is renewed from your latest Eligible Night, and an upgrade starts a new 12-month period from the check-out of the stay that earned it.

What happens to my nights after an upgrade?

Radisson deducts the Eligible Nights or Stays that triggered the upgrade from your counters. To keep the new tier you need its requirement again within the new period.

Do nights booked through a travel website count?

Radisson's own pages disagree: its FAQ says both that third-party bookings do not count towards the next tier and that they do, while its terms exclude rates booked through online travel agencies. Book direct if the nights matter for status.

Radisson Rewards

Radisson Rewards has three tiers: Club, which every member starts at, then Premium and VIP. Each higher tier is earned on Eligible Nights or on Eligible Stays, whichever you reach first, within a 12-month Qualification Period rather than a calendar year.

That period moves. It renews from your most recent Eligible Night, and reaching a tier uses up the nights or stays that earned it and starts a fresh 12 months from check-out. Miss the requirement and you drop one tier. Status Lark shows the published thresholds and how far you are from each; it does not calculate Radisson Rewards points.
