When does my Scandic Friends member year start and end?

It starts on the day you signed up and ends on the last day of the month a year later. For example, a member who joined on 12 May would have a first member year ending on 31 May of the following year, according to Scandic's FAQ.

How long does a Scandic Friends level last?

According to Scandic's FAQ, a level you reach is kept for the rest of that member year and the whole of the next. If you do not reach the points for your level during a member year you are downgraded, by at most one level a year. The terms and conditions do not state the two-year period; the FAQ does.

Can I reach a level on nights instead of points?

Only Best Friend, Level 7, which can be reached on either qualification points or qualifying nights in a member year (the table above gives both figures). Scandic's terms give no nights route for the other levels. The compare-all-levels page shows only the points, so check the terms for the nights route.

Scandic Friends

Scandic Friends is the free loyalty programme of Scandic Hotels. Members start at Level 1, New Friend, and reach each of six higher levels by earning qualification points in a member year; the top level, Best Friend, can also be reached on qualifying nights. A member year runs for 12 months from the day you joined, to the last day of the month a year later, so it is not a calendar year.

Points and nights for qualification expire at the end of the member year. According to Scandic's FAQ, a level you reach is kept for the rest of that member year and the next, and you drop at most one level a year.
