What Are Qantas Status Credits?

Status Credits are the currency Qantas Frequent Flyer uses to measure elite status. You earn them each time you fly Qantas, Jetstar or a oneworld partner, and they decide whether you hold Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. They are separate from Qantas Points, which are the currency you redeem for flights and upgrades.

How they are earned

Status Credits are set by a table that combines the distance band of the route with the fare class you book. A flexible business fare earns far more than the cheapest economy fare on the same route. This is why two travellers on the same flight can earn very different amounts.

Thresholds and recent changes

Status is assessed over your personal membership year. Silver requires 300 Status Credits to attain, Gold 700, Platinum 1,400 and Platinum One 3,600. Qantas has announced that from 2027 it intends to simplify to a single annual target per tier and introduce rollover of a portion of unused Status Credits — confirm the details on qantas.com once the change takes effect.
