Requirements beyond the threshold
- Silver — At least 4 flown Copa Airlines segments.
- Gold — At least 4 flown Copa Airlines segments.
- Platinum — At least 4 flown Copa Airlines segments.
- Presidential — At least 4 flown Copa Airlines segments.
These apply in addition to the miles figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.
A minimum of 4 flown Copa Airlines segments per year is required at every tier. The segment alternative is Silver 20, Gold 35, Platinum 65, Presidential 85 segments, and Basic fares earn half the miles and segments. Copa's own-metal earning is keyed on fare family (Business Full 300%, Promo 175%, Economy Full 175%, Classic 100%, Basic 50% Qualifying Miles, minimum 500 miles; letters G, I, N, P, X and Z earn nothing), so pick a fare family. On a ticket issued by another airline, Copa's terms price its flights by booking letter instead (C/J 200%, D/R 150%, Y/B/M 125%, H/Q/K/V/U/S/O/W 100%, E/L/T/A 50%); Copa does not define ‘sold by another airline’, so treat that table as a guide. Avianca flights convert at 1 qualifying mile per 2 award miles, except on seven named city pairs (BOG–MAD, BOG–CDG, BOG–BCN, BOG–LHR, CLO–MAD, MAD–MDE and SAL–MAD) where it is 1:1 from 1 July 2026; both are priced here, earlier flights at 1:2. Qualification runs on the calendar year, counters reset on 1 January, and status earned in a year is valid to the end of February two years on; the PreferMember bonus (25 / 50 / 75 / 100% by tier) is award-side only.
