- Qualifying period: 12 consecutive months from the oldest flight whose miles have not expired or been used for an upgrade.
- Gold (105,000 Tier Miles) is the lowest tier with Star Alliance Gold lounge access.

Elite tiers
| Tier | Tier Miles required from zero | Step up from the tier below | To retain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 35,000 | — | Same as the step up |
| Gold Star Alliance Gold | 105,000 | +70,000 from Silver | Same as the step up |
Gold confers Star Alliance Gold — the lowest tier in this programme with alliance-wide lounge access. Alliance mapping last verified 4 October 2026. Conditions beyond the threshold: Tier miles reset on the upgrade to Silver — 105,000 is the standing-start total (35,000 to Silver, a further 70,000 to Gold); Cheaper own-metal route exists (24,000 tier miles after Silver with 4+ Aegean/Olympic flights); Miles not used for an upgrade expire one year after each flight; Restructure 5 Nov 2026: the Gold step rises to 72,000 (108,000 from zero), a 32-flight route is added, and a new Platinum tier launches. Miles+Bonus resets your qualifying balance when you reach a tier. The middle column is the total from a standing start; the last column is what a member who has just qualified for the tier below still has to earn.
Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Miles+Bonus publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over the same qualification window as the reaching figure. “Same as the step up” means Miles+Bonus says keeping the tier takes the same amount as the step that earned it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.
Aegean's ladder is sequential: the tier miles that earn Silver are reset when you reach it, and Gold is earned on top. So the totals from a standing start are Silver 35,000 and Gold 105,000 any-airline tier miles — 35,000, then a further 70,000; Aegean prints the two steps, not the total. The any-airline route is the most expensive way to qualify and the only one that does not depend on flying Aegean. Cheaper own-metal routes work the same way (Silver: 12,000 tier miles with at least 2 Aegean or Olympic flights; Gold: a further 24,000 with at least 4). Each step has to be completed within 12 consecutive months, and miles not used for an upgrade expire one year after each flight. Retention is a lower bar on the own-metal route and equals the step on the any-airline route: Silver retains on 8,000 tier miles including at least 2 Aegean or Olympic flights, or 35,000 on any airline; Gold on 12,000 including at least 4, or 70,000. Olympic Air is priced as Aegean's own metal, elite status does not speed up tier miles, and airlines outside Star Alliance earn nothing. Aegean rebuilds Miles+Bonus into four tiers on 5 November 2026, and the new ladder replaces this one from that date.

What a return earns
- A return between MAN and ATH on Aegean Airlines earns 6,552 Tier Miles in economy and 8,190 in business.
- On the reference route LHR–NYC (JFK or EWR), flown by United Airlines, one economy return earns 6,912 Tier Miles in booking class Y, the highest-earning economy class we hold for that flight.
- LHR–CDG: no figure — no rule captured. No published rate captured for this carrier pair in any of the cabin's booking classes — not a statement that it earns nothing.
| Tier | Tier Miles | Economy returns |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | 35,000 | 6 |
