Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what Royal Orchid Plus publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over the same qualification window as the reaching figure. “Same as to reach” means Royal Orchid Plus says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.
Requirements beyond the threshold
- Platinum — Flown in THAI Royal First or Royal Silk cabins; Met in EACH of two consecutive 12-month periods — the figure shown is per period.
These apply in addition to the miles figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.
Platinum requires 80,000 Qualifying Miles flown in THAI Royal First or Royal Silk (J/F) in each of two consecutive 12-month periods; the per-period figure is shown. The Gold alternative is 40 international THAI segments in 12 months (THAI metal only, excluding classes T, K, S, G, V, W and L), and Silver is also reachable at 15,000 Qualifying Miles over 24 rolling months and Gold at 80,000 over 24. Booking class A moved from Royal First (200%) to Premium Economy (110%) for flights on or after 1 July 2026 and the 110% rate is applied here, although THAI's own page still shows the old First row; THAI's prose rates class T at 75% where its table says 100%, and we follow the table. THAI warns that a codeshare bought from the marketing carrier but operated by another Star Alliance member may not be eligible at all, and publishes no separate Platinum retention figure. Asiana accrual ends for flights after 15 October 2026. Platinum and Gold members whose status expired or expires between 1 June and 31 December 2026 are extended to 30 June 2027.
