  • Premier Platinum — At least four paid flight segments operated by United or United Express in the calendar year.
  • Premier 1K — At least four paid flight segments operated by United or United Express in the calendar year.

These apply in addition to the PQP figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.

The figures shown are the Premier Qualifying Points (PQP) thresholds alone. United also publishes a cheaper flights-plus-points pair at every rung: Silver 15 flights + 5,000 PQP, Gold 30 + 10,000, Platinum 45 + 15,000, 1K 60 + 22,000. Basic Economy fares earn PQP but no Premier Qualifying Flights (PQF), so they can fill the spend side and never the flight side. The window is the fixed calendar year, and status earned in it runs to 31 January of the year after next. On one sterling-filed transatlantic fare we observed about 0.92 PQP per dollar rather than 1.00, so figures here, which follow United's published $1 rule, may run high on similar fares; the cause is not yet resolved.
