Keeping a tier is a different bar from reaching it. The last column is what ShebaMiles publishes for a member who already holds the tier, over the same qualification window as the reaching figure. “Same as to reach” means ShebaMiles says the same figure that reaches the tier keeps it. A dash means no retention figure comparable with the reaching one is shown for that rung, not that renewal is automatic; where the programme publishes one over a different window, its note gives it.
The programme year is the calendar year (1 January to 31 December), and Status Miles reset to zero each 1 January. Either the Status Miles or the segment alternative (Blue 2, Silver 25, Gold 50, Platinum 80 qualifying segments) qualifies, but segments count on Ethiopian international metal only, so that route is described here and not computed. Partner Status Miles are capped at 100% of distance, as ShebaMiles' own earning calculator shows (Award Miles take the full charted rate), with Air India the one exception, and published minimum-mile floors apply to Award Miles only; Ethiopian's own metal is not capped (Business earns 150% of distance in Status Miles). One annual bar both reaches and keeps a tier, and no lower renewal figure is published. Once reached, Silver and Gold last for the rest of the calendar year plus the next twelve months, and Platinum plus the next twenty-four.
