Elite tiers

Aerolíneas Plus resets your qualifying balance when you reach a tier. The middle column is the total from a standing start; the last column is what a member who has just qualified for the tier below still has to earn.

Once you reach a tier it runs for a year from the following month, and Aerolíneas then assesses you on the 12 months before that tier expires, so in practice the miles that earned one tier do not count toward the next. That is our reading: Aerolíneas never says the count resets. The figures shown are totals from a standing start — Gold 25,000, Platinum 75,000 (a further 50,000) and Diamond 145,000 (a further 70,000) — although a member who passes 50,000 within one monthly assessment can go straight to Platinum. Each step can also be met by segments or a mix (for example Gold on 30 segments, or 15,000 miles plus 15 segments). Card miles count towards Gold and Platinum, but not Diamond. Only Aerolíneas Argentinas and SkyTeam flights count for status; GOL and LATAM flights earn miles you can spend but not status miles.
