Upgrade thresholds shown — assessed over any rolling 12 consecutive months, applied immediately, with half of each threshold required from China Airlines / Mandarin Airlines self-operated flights. Tiers are valid for two years; renewal uses different thresholds over that window (Gold 580 / Emerald 1,150 / Paragon 2,240 SP, half own-metal). Verified against china-airlines.com, Aug 2026. Own-metal earning follows a route-band × booking-class grid — nine destination bands out of Taiwan, eleven class rows, flat Status Point values with no distance or spend component. China Airlines publishes that grid only as images; the member Earn Calculator (read 9 Aug 2026 with an authenticated account, all ten band × route sets including the BNE–AKL fifth freedom) has now given a Primary reading of EVERY cell — the whole grid is calculator-verified. The member-compiled copy it replaced understated Business J in every band (by +2 to +35, no arithmetic rule; band ⑦ New York J is 180, not 145) and C by 2–3 in most, and band ③ / the fifth freedom needed four cheap-end corrections each. Status Points are tier-independent (confirmed at Paragon — the tier bonus lifts redeemable miles only). The calculator also publishes a separate, much lower Status Point column for CODESHARED flights (roughly 30/20/10/0 across the grid; L and G earn nothing on codeshares) — not modelled, since the calculator's v1 scope is marketing = operating, so a CI-marketed codeshare reports an unknown rate rather than the wrong column. The scheme has been in force since 27 November 2025. Mandarin Airlines (AE) domestic flights use a separate chart we do not hold and report an unknown rate — which also means the half-own-metal requirement is understated for anyone flying Mandarin. S and X promotional tickets earn no Status Points; O/I and Z/P (award/upgrade inventory) earn nothing at all per the calculator; L and G earn Status Points but no redeemable miles. Partner flights use a different model, published in full: credited miles by booking class, converted through a step table capped at 30 Status Points per sector.
